Maggie Le Conte was born in Natal, South Africa and came to Guernsey as a teenager.
From an early age she developed a great love of drawing and painting. She is self-taught but mentored by her artist parents. In her final year at school Margaret Waller FIAL taught her and over the years has been tutored and encouraged by various talented professional artists and attended several painting trips and workshops.
Her love of nature, history, dance and fantasy is reflected in her "eclectic" art. She loves to paint and sketch "en plein air" as well as using her imagination to create her art.
She regularly attends Life Drawing sessions to hone skills depicting the human form. She also has a passion for plants and studying their forms.
Finding the beauty in nature also inspires her whether in Guernsey or in the many places she has visited in the world. Maggie likes to paint widely different genres using many different mediums to suit the subject and mood.
