Willow craft and ceramics exhibition

Overview

Tim Babbé and Rachael Bearder combine to create a dual exhibition space featuring their respective artisan skills of ceramic-work and willow-weaving.

Snippets from both artists' bios reveal an embedded passion for their craft.

"I came to weaving relatively late in my life - after over three decades in the finance industry, I burnt out and started to weave with willow to help my recovery. I love the creative process and the challenges of using natural products - the feel, look and scent of willow are all beautiful and the shapes it can be used to make vary from small, intricate baskets to structures large enough to sit under." – Rachael Bearder

" ... On returning to the Island in the early eighties I joined a small studio in St Saviour's with Paul Dyer, a notable potter making reduction fired stoneware and porcelain working and selling at the Coach House Gallery. I now have a small studio at home where my passion of ceramics has never stopped. I continue to find new and old methods to try and get that "perfect pot". – Tim Babbé
