This afternoon was one of those times when Guernsey shone. Little wind, clear December light and a sea full of the temper, from this morning's weather.
Clusters of people stood and gazed at the pounding waves. It was exciting watching and waiting for the next 'big one'. Albecq (where the photo was taken) was lee-ward - just behind was a windward Vazon. Surfers and kite-surfers made the most of the warm winds on that side and there was a real sense of magic to be there, as a bystander or participator.
Definitely one of those NTG moments - and in the words of a visionary Past President, Raymond Falla OBE ...
"We have a duty to save the things that mattered to us, to Guernsey, and which would be of considerable interest to our children and grandchildren .... we must create in the minds of the young an appreciation of the countryside, the wonders of the seashore and the things that really matter in life"
