Appointment of Caro Drake as Manager at 26 Cornet Street and Costume Curator

The National Trust of Guernsey is delighted to announce the appointment of Caro Drake as Manager at the Victorian Shop and Parlour and formal employment as Costume Curator for the Trust’s Costume Collection, with effect from 1st October 2020.After graduating in 1998 from Winchester Art College with a BA Hons degree in Textile Art, Caro worked in London at The Conran Shop, renowned haberdashers VV Rouleaux and later as a freelance embroiderer based in West Sussex, including exhibiting at the Country Living Fairs in Islington. Her love of historic fashion led Caro to taking a summer course in corsetry at London College of Art.Caro will already be a familiar face to many in her previous role as Manager at The Guernsey Tapestry, St. James where she was involved with the installation and launch of this unique tapestry collection as a world-wide visitor attraction.Her extensive experience with textiles, costume design and social history is of great benefit to the curation of the Trust’s Costume Collection displayed at the Folk and Costume Museum.Caro’s proven experience in the heritage retail sector presents an exciting opportunity for National Trust of Guernsey’s Victorian Shop and Parlour at 26 Cornet Street.
