Chestnuts, Apples, Conkers .. Nature's storm harvest
The worst storm in nearly 30 years? Thankfully, we just got a whip of the Tiger's tail ... Heard an interesting fact today about UK Met Office ... their computer gobbles a million million bits of information per second from world wide sources. The Met Office world is divided into individual grids of 25 square kilometers ... each giving up constant information. This million-million-per-second-gobble-process is how they accurately predict up to 5 day forecasts. Within ten years it will be more like a few weeks of forecast. Met Office is rightly proud of the way they were able to give accurate due warning. A brilliant example of technology and sharing information. In the meantime ... here's something that is most definitely not technically wired. Chestnuts. Clever old nature! A good gale brings down all sorts - Apples, Chestnuts, Walnuts and enough Conkers to start a proper war.
