Eleanor Atkinson Art at The Park opens soon
'Once seen, never forgotten' – is an accurate description of Eleanor Atkinson's work and for all the right reasons. Her collage and paper artworks emanate joy and evoke fascination, as the sheer scale of collage detail is seen. Her work is simply ... mesmerising. We are thrilled to host Ellie's forthcoming Art at The Park exhibition.
Eleanor Atkinson Bio
I am a collage and paper artist. I completed a Foundation Course in Art & Design at Kingston University in 2015. During this year my eyes were opened to the wonderful technique of collage. I have a vivid memory of a tutor showing this technique during a drawing trip to the Hunterian Museum. I instantly loved this process, it just made sense! I went on to attend Edinburgh University, studying illustration at the College of Art, graduating in 2018. I returned to Guernsey in 2019 and currently work as a freelance illustrator. I feel strongly about the benefits of creativity in the community and work with Arts for Impact.
I am so excited to be having a solo exhibition with the National Trust at Saumarez Park. I will post further details soon but for now here is a bit about the exhibition. 'Wild Guernsey’ is a celebration of our beautiful island and what the incredible landscape provides for our community. I had a realisation during lockdown of how much I have taken the landscape for granted. It has filled me with a feeling of gratitude and being completely content by the ordinary which feels rather extraordinary!
Exhibition runs 28 June – 29 July
Open 7 days a week: 10am - 5pm
Free admission. Donations welcome.
We are an access-friendly museum for all ages.
