Our team at NTG's Folk & Costume Museum are putting together some "not to be missed" exhibitions for 2014 Season, including a permanent display with everything you ever needed to know about the island's unique item of clothing, the 'Guernsey'. Exhibitions for 2014 will include  a "1914 display" to commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of WWI through a Guernsey family on the brink of war. There will also be an exhibition marking 300 years from the start of the Georgian era with a selction of clothes from this period dating from 1746 onwards. These will include the exquisite coat of Baliwick born Paul Le Mesurier, 18th century Lord Mayor of London. By popular demand the Trust's Lace Collection will also once again be on display at the museum this year. This is all in addition to the extensive permanent displays whether your interested in finding out more about the heritage of Guernsey's people or want to find out the history that makes the 'Guernsey' the iconic item of island clothing that it is.
