Insurance Corporation Conservation Awards

NTG are pleased to be associated with, and grateful for Insurance Corporation's support.

Local conservationists are encouraged to celebrate their work through IC's 24th year of awards to individuals, businesses, organisations and schools who've created - or may create - an environmental project for the benefit of the island.  IC go on to say:

'This year we will be introducing a new award in honour of Insurance Corporation chairman and founder of the Conservation Awards, Peter Walpole.  This award will be the opportunity for followers of the Insurance Corporation Community Facebook Page to vote for their favourite project".

The top prize is £2,000 for the best conservation project and is open to individuals, families, conservation and environmental groups or organisations, companies, landscaping firms, States departments and parishes.

Judging for the awards will take place on 9 June and will be done by a team of expert judges representing local conservation bodies.  The public will be able to have their say for the Peter Walpole Award shortly after at www.facebook.com/insurancecorporation, the winner will receive £250 to put towards their project.

Deadline for entries is Friday 30 May.  Prize-giving will take place at lunchtime on 18th June and for more event organisation details, please contact LRD on 750490.
