Les Caches Barn, Forest - Attendants and Guides needed

How you can help | Les Caches Farm

The seat at this desk, in our lovely heritage building Les Caches Barn, Forest, is begging to be filled by a person who loves meeting people and is proud to share an important part of Guernsey’s history. The National Trust of Guernsey seeks part time staff for the 2017 season and we are hoping to open Les Caches Farm as follows: Tuesdays: 1300-1500 (first available in June - 30th September) Thursdays: 1030-1230 (as above) Salary: £7.50 per hour Suggested training date: Sunday 28th May for opening Thursday 1st June onwards (site open to public)   What’s Involved:

Welcome visitors to the site Staffing the entrance space and selling a small amount of items for sale Fully open and close the site Talking with visitors and helping with enquiries Informing visitors of other current National Trust projects and sites that can be visited Working with other National Trust staff and volunteers, in running any special events at the site A keen interest in the Apple Orchard and surrounding land at Les Caches Farm. Essential skills: good communication, a responsible attitude and an interest in Guernsey heritage Wish List: some language ability, particularly French, German or Dutch. Some customer experience.

Les Caches is set in a peaceful, idyllic situation and the building itself, offers a quiet and relaxing environment to enjoy and share with visitors. The position may suit a couple, one of whom would be willing to work on a volunteer basis. Being a complex of pretty farm buildings, there is always plenty to do, at the site. It's our intention to make more use of the property for the enjoyment of Islanders and visitors, and the position would also suit those with good ideas and event-management skills. Please contact: Sara Lampitt 07781 165430 or email [email protected] if you wish to discuss the position in more detail. Volunteers are always welcome, in this and many other areas of work with National Trust of Guernsey.
