National Trust of Guernsey works with The Ivy Trust

Bluebells at The Ron Short Walk The National Trust of Guernsey is pleased to be working with The Ivy Trust, a charitable organization providing support for parents who have experienced the loss of a baby either during pregnancy or soon after birth. Mindful that opportunities for remembrance are important and meaningful for bereaved parents, some land areas, safe-guarded by the National Trust of Guernsey will be carefully chosen and available for use by anyone seeking a quiet place for peaceful reflection, particularly within The Ivy Trust community. The Ivy Trust and National Trust of Guernsey aim to work together on projects to include tree planting and wild-flower meadow creation. Planting new and additional trees at The Ron Short Walk in the Talbot Valley is being examined as an inaugural project. Future projects may include the creation of a dedicated Ivy Trust woodland area or a nature trail. Since 1960, the National Trust of Guernsey has received and acquired many areas of coastal and countryside land, often in places of outstanding natural beauty. To be able to share some of these, as areas for peaceful contemplation, means a great deal to the Trust.
