Ann Segars and Dorothe Lord have put together a truly beautiful Christmas shop. Belgian style blends seamlessly with Guernsey heritage in our jewel of the crown at Saumarez Park's Folk & Costume Museum.
There is so much to look at and choose from that it's difficult to name favourites. Best then, to ask Dorothe about her favourite item, the answer to which was delivered with a near helpless sigh. "The orange slices dipped in chocolate are unbelievable"
There's more. Childrens toys abound from spinning tops, aircraft carriers and tool boxes, to string puppets. These are best described as hands on, learning toys. It's funny trying to make a string puppet walk (we tried) ... he needs a voice-over and colourful imagination with a story of who he is and where he's walking!
This is an engaging place to start if you want your child to put away the smart phone, discard the tablet or close the lap top. NTG's Christmas shop buys in to traditional games and family time, with grown up sneaky treats to boot.
