Notre Dame du Rosaire's visit to The Victorian Christmas Shop

26 Cornet Street

Music and a marriage proposal were the order of the day, when Notre Dame du Rosaire students made their annual visit to The Victorian Christmas Shop at 26 Cornet Street. All year groups visited the shop during the course of Friday 7th December, a day after the shop was opened by Trust Patron, The Lieutenant Governor, His Excellency Sir Ian Corder KBE, CB and Lady Corder. This annual trip is always looked forward to by staff and volunteers at this unique property, restored by National Trust of Guernsey in 1983. The most amusing moment every year, without fail, is trying to get that 'stern Victorian look' from a class of happy and jolly children, with stifled giggles all round from big and little people. Our congratulations and thanks go to the relatives and friends of the visiting students from Notre Dame du Rosaire, for the incredible standard of home-made Victorian costumes, which always make for a wonderful set of photographs and memories. The Victorian Christmas Shop is open for three days a week, until Saturday 22nd December. Late night opening on a Thursday.
