NTG's Viaër Marchi 2014
Lé Viaër Marchi trucks are almost rolling! Gates open at 5pm on Monday 7th July, for Guernsey's biggest annual community event, The National Trust of Guernsey's Viaër Marchi. "Tradition" is the name of the game at Lé Viaër Marchi and as always, Guernsey's traditional skills of lace-making, crab-pot making, basket weaving, wood-turning and copper work are demonstrated by local crafters and displayed around the showground. Guernsey's heritage is proudly rolled out at Lé Viaër Marchi, making this a crowd-pulling event for locals and visitors alike. If you're a heritage fan, why not make the most of being at Saumarez Park and visit NTG's Folk & Costume Museum, which houses Guernsey's largest collections of heritage items. We'll be selling traditional Guernsey Bean Jar, Gâche, Guernsey Biscuits and Doughnuts amongst many other stalls selling local produce. There are marching bands, a Punch & Judy show, maypole dancing and traditional Guernsey songs and dances. Lé Viaër Marchi really does celebrate the very best of Guernsey Heritage. And to top it all, you are bound to see some familiar faces. For many Viaër Market-eers, it is an annual get together!
