Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Following government recommendations, we have taken the decision to postpone the opening of our staffed sites, until further notice. The Folk and Costume Museum was due to open on Wednesday 1st April and Les Caches Farm on Tuesday 5th May. We have also cancelled our public events within the near future including Lé Viaër Marchi (Monday 6th July). Our first priority is the health and wellbeing of our Members, visitors, staff and volunteers.  We would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank our Museum staff and volunteers who have worked throughout the winter in putting together the 2020 costume exhibitions and preparing the Museum. Also, to the organisers and team members of events which have been cancelled. We are making plans to deliver a virtual showcase of the costume exhibitions and the Museum by way of photographs and films. Our landscapes remain unaffected and, we hope, will provide walkers with some relief from the pressing circumstances. Films of  National Trust of Guernsey areas are currently being produced, in the hope of encouraging rural enjoyment for everyone or viewing the best of Guernsey from the comfort of your own home. We look forward to welcoming visitors at our public properties as soon as we are able. Until then, we hope that you and those close to you keep healthy and safe.
