Overview
Whichever way you look at it, National Trust of Guernsey's finely restored Victorian Shop and Parlour is a shop within a museum or a museum within a shop. This unique property within the Channel Islands features original hand-operated barrel shutters on its front facing bay windows which, we believe, are the only extant pair in the British Isles.
The shop stocks a fine variety of gifts, spoil-yourself-treats, homewares and plenty for haberdashers to enjoy. The Victorian sweet counter is a firm favourite with visitors of all ages, where sweets are measured out by hand, some varieties of which are hard to find elsewhere. You might be surprised to learn that your favourite sweet belongs in our top ten of favourites savoured by visitors from all over the world.
There are surprises around every cosy corner and it is difficult to leave the Victorian Shop and Parlour empty-handed. A warm welcome is guaranteed.
