Art at The Park Gallery presents an Exhibition of Silk Embroidery by Betty Watson. The exhibition runs from 24th September – 25th October 2024 with a Preview evening on 23rd September, details of which follow below.
Betty Watson’s ‘Traditional Japanese Embroidery in Silk’ is a celebration of the complex and detailed embroidery developed through hundreds of years of Japanese artisans.
Betty has practised this art for many years and has gained the highest level of complexity through her stitch work. The resulting embroideries are an explosion of detail with a beauty all of their own.
Betty’s Preview evening for Members and artist's invitees is on Monday 23rd of September between 5pm and 7pm at the Art at the Park Gallery. This is an opportunity to not only browse her work and but discuss the complex nature of the skills with Betty.
