A wonderful photograph has come to light, just in time for the end of 2019 daffodilly season. In the early 1900's daffodils were exported in great quantities from Guernsey to mainland Britain. Today, some fields remain fully glorious in the spring time. Other fields, now green, show a vestige of the past with lane-side banks of daffodils thriving from bulbs thrown, like unwanted potatoes, as the export trade died off.
