LEARN HOW TO HELP OUR POLLINATORS WITH DAVE GOULSON

National Trust of Guernsey strongly supports the invaluable work of The Pollinator Project and its aim to raise awareness across the Island of action we can all take to support butterflies, bees and pollinators. To learn more about how, with few small changes, our gardens can become a crucial network of tiny nature reserves, head along to the family-friendly Pollinator Project event with Professor Dave Goulson, at Les Beaucamps High School on Sunday 19 May 11.15am - 12.15pm. Free Event.  Dave Goulson is an eminent scientist but is also known for making the complex world of ecosystems, and our role within them, accessible to the normal person on the street.  He founded the Bumblebee Conservation Trust in the UK in 2006 who have been very supportive in granting access to their resources to produce the recently published Six Guernsey Bumblebee leaflet. Dave’s talk is extremely pertinent at the moment with the recent reports about the mass extinctions facing us.  Many people say they feel powerless to do much in the face of these huge global environmental challenges, but the reality is that we can each make a small difference and if done together, positive change is possible.
