NOTICE TO NTG MEMBERS – REVIEW OF MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS

After holding subscriptions at the current levels since 2011, a review of subscriptions was considered and approved at the AGM on 27th September 2017. NTG does not receive any financial support from the States of Guernsey for its activities. The costs of maintaining NTG’s heritage properties, the Folk and Costume Museum, the Victorian Shop at 26 Cornet Street and publicly-accessible lands increase each year, in spite of a lot of hard work to keep expenses down and with the help of volunteers. NTG membership is still very good value and compares most favourably with similar organisations in Jersey and the UK. Reciprocal arrangements continue to offer free admission to pay-to-visit sites belonging to heritage organisations around the world. The new rates, effective from the date of the AGM, will be as follows:

Single                                         £25 Joint                                           £40 Family                                        No increase for children, as Adult rate plus £5 per child Life                                             £400 Single or £750 Joint Corporate                                 £200

A new structure for Corporate Membership is under consideration.  However, the AGM authorised NTG Council to set Corporate Membership rates without a requirement for further AGM approval and also agreed an immediate increase in the minimum Corporate Membership fee from £100 to £200, with an associated increase from five to eight Membership cards to be included. The increases will be reflected in the usual process for claiming subscriptions; by reminder for cash subscriptions and standing orders in December 2017 and by Direct Debit in January 2018.
