The Museum, Costume Collections and Art at The Park are now open for 2022. Just ahead of opening, we were delighted to welcome National Trust of Guernsey Members and friends of artist Chris Griffiths to a Preview evening on Monday 4 April when the 2022 Costume Collections and Chris’s exhibition were revealed for the first time this year.
We could hear visitors laughing as they viewed the 1980s film accompanying the 1980s Costume Exhibitions, probably recognising themselves or friends from way back when. Visitors also thoroughly admired the elegant ground floor exhibitions showcasing rare and exquisite examples of 19th century pockets and 20th century miniature purses, handbags and luggage for ‘international travel’ as it was then known.
The Museum Shop, exquisitely stocked throughout the year is also open and enjoying some busy footfall – what a happy way to start the year at The Folk and Costume Museum, Saumarez Park.
