Retiring Shop Manageress, Elizabeth Lihou and much appreciated Volunteer, Robin Whicker After eleven years at the helm, Elizabeth Lihou retires as Shop Manageress at National Trust of Guernsey’s Victorian Shop and Parlour at 26 Cornet Street. Elizabeth is already planning a busy retirement which will likely involve knitting bespoke tea-cosies, over 300 of which she generously donated to the shop during her time with the Trust. Robin Whicker has been a familiar face and longstanding Volunteer at The Victorian Shop and Parlour. His invaluable knowledge of local heritage and social history has been shared with, and enjoyed by, many. Joint recollections of their time at National Trust of Guernsey’s unique Victorian Shop and Parlour will be published in our Spring edition of The Trust Newsletter, a digital copy of which will be available shortly after Easter. Thank you Elizabeth and we wish you a happy and fulfilling retirement. The Victorian Shop and Parlour will be closed for a period of essential restoration. We apologise for any disappointment and look forward to opening as soon as possible.
