Designs for a multi-million pound, 5* hotel at former Idlerocks site have created a stir amongst islanders.
Plans for a £20m makeover of the derelict fire-ravaged site were unveiled this weekend. Architects propose a 35-bedroomed hotel, to include a spa and Michelin-starred restaurant.
NTG's President, Martin Ozanne was interviewed by Guernsey Press and said that NTG would look at the overall proposals, rather than the first artist's impression, as launched to the public. NTG have Council representation and a sub-committee for planning applications. The Trust is pleased that plans are in the pipeline to rectify a site that's been an eyesore for 10 years.
He went on to say "We have to ensure that the coastline isn't spoilt. The most important thing is what it it will look like from the sea. I do believe the roof line is low down, so that is good news. It's time it's tidied up."
